What is the best weight-loss medicine for you?
The best weight-loss medication depends on your situation, BMI and any health conditions you may have. The four options we offer:

What is the difference between Mounjaro (tirzepatide) and Ozempic/Wegovy (semaglutide)?
Mounjaro acts on two hormones (GLP-1 and GIP), whilst Ozempic and Wegovy act only on GLP-1. As a result, Mounjaro leads to greater weight loss on average: 20 to 22% compared to 15% for Wegovy and Ozempic.
- Mounjaro: newer, stronger effect, higher price
- Wegovy: proven to be safe, on the market for longer. Available in higher doses than Ozempic
- Ozempic: same as Wegovy but is officially approved for type 2 diabetes (off-label use for weight loss)
Both suppress your appetite, slow down gastric emptying and improve insulin sensitivity.
Do you need a prescription for Mounjaro or Ozempic?
Yes, both medicines are strictly prescription-only in the Netherlands. They are not available without a prescription.
